Have we mentioned how we love brunch?

So we have to tell you about Sweet Melissa's in Decatur Square. Love them! Open only until 2:30 during the week and 3pm on the weekends, they serve brunch everyday! Gotta love that! The tahini tofu scramble and the breakfast burrito (w/tofu) are great additions to the menu.

Just another fun place to go with your veg and non-veg friends!

We love brunch!!

Just can't get enough of it! So when we find a place that offers a yummy meal, we just have to share. So our new love is Saba. Located right across the street from Emory, it's a neat find! Great place to go with your veggie and not so veggie friends! Though they are known for their pasta, we decided to check out their brunch. They did not disappoint! The vegan french toast is amazing! With a great selection of Arden's Garden juices and a sweet mimosa, what's not to like?
Also check out their new location in Decatur Square!

It's ok, I'm a vegetarian!

I heard this the other day from a fellow veggie who, at the time, was engaging in a mildly athletic activity. This statement was used to excuse his slightly uncordinated performance. Let's set the record straight guys...

Choosing a plant based diet does not negatively affect your athletic prowess.

There. I said it. There are a number of veggie athletes! My personal faves being Surya Bonaly and Tony Gonzales! Remember the 247-lb vegan? So you guys... no excuses! Let's get out and get active!
I leave you with a vision of veggie greatness...

VEGAN ALTERNATIVES

What do you do if you want to go vegan, but you ocassionally like to partake in a snack? Cheetos are out, string cheese is out. Here are our a few of our top choices for vegan alternatives for snacks and a variety of other items

1) Tings- A great alternative to Cheetos.

2) Garden Burger- It has been recommended on numerous ocassions, they do a good job on trying to stay vegan

3) Mellow Mushroom- They have various locations throughout Atlanta and offer a pineapple, onion and tempeh pizza with no cheese (also ask them to leave butter and parm off the crust). Also try the BBQ tempeh.

4) Cosmos Vegan Shoppe- Also have to give them a shout out. Being a vegan shop, they have pretty much anything you would want, including Tings, stuff for tofu scrambles (very tasty) and fabulous sweets from Dulce Vegan (very, very tasty, and made by fellow member, Idalys).

5) Teese- Use it for vegan mac n' cheese- another member recomendation.
